weekend in the city

It was a lovely one. Kicked off with an Island Party at One&Only Hotel, which took place on the Isola bar in the middle of the water. The pool is also located on the island, so you get the feeling you’re having drinks on a mini archipelago, which is hugely romantic when the sun goes down and it’s twilight and they bring out the heaters… it really was divine. They served the most incredible oysters as well as blue cheese mousse thingies… and black chocolate mini cupcakes… garsh I really could go on. Will contain myself.

BFF Gen was done from Joburg. Did some serious shopping. Did some serious sushi eating at Willoughby’s. Am completely obsessed with the tiger and the dragon rolls. More oysters. What? I HAD to. Gen was down from JOBURG. That is what you DO when you’re in Cape Town.

Went for strolls in the sunshine post all this eating…

Did a lot of sitting around in the sunshine on balcony drinking Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc and staring at mountain…

Had a lot of Neurotic Harvey love this weekend. The Neuroses were in town and they’d brought friends. Can’t complain.

And the CTG site was down for most of the weekend. Totally tragic and has caused the postponement of a Very Exciting Giveaway, which will now commence next week. But this week you can look forward to restaurant reviews, including Wild Woods, Mint at Taj & a wine pairing at maze at One&Only, another installment of CTG’s resident foodie Food Interrupted, as well as CTG’s terribly thoughtful and important musings on running, men and photography… hold tight y’all!
