Accessorize Spring / Summer 2011 Preview

Butterfly bangle

Love this butterfly bangle, it’s BEGGING to be worn with a flowing white maxidress. Think retro summer days on the Amalfi coastline (of which I am a huge fan, I won’t lie, may or may not be building a house there but more about that later). Poolside 50s and 60s glamour. Love slight nod to flower children – just a touch, not too hippie. Also love the fringe bags. Make sure you get yourself a good pair of catseye shades for summer. I’ve been collecting all year! Prada, Dolce & Gabanna and Chanel should do you well.  Click here for more of the Accessorize Spring Summer 2011 look.

What to wear on a day on the bikes

Prada Swing in tortoiseshell

What better for a day on the bikes than these Prada babies, exclusively available at Sunglass Hut. Got mine at the waterfront. Do yourself a favour and get a pair of Pepe Jeans jeggings too – cut like proper jeans with zips and buttons and pockets and all, not like the elasticated granny waists of most jeggings – but the most comfy things to come out in denim in the last decade, mark my words. Of course, don’t forget a decent leather biker jacket!

view overlooking Sir Lowry's pass

Went quad biking in Elgin this weekend as a surprise for JW’s birthday. We went on a Nature’s Discovery trail into the Hottentots Holland mountains, coming out at a lookout point just above Sir Lowry’s pass where you can look down onto Somerset West and Strand and Table Mountain from behind and even see Robben Island far off in the distance.

The trail is amazing – you go through forest and rocks and sand and the fresh air is just wonderful and the landscape is so beautiful and surreal. The entire trip took us 3 hours with a tea and rusk break at the top.

It was truly beautiful. I can’t recommend it enough! If you want to go, I booked through Extreme Scene Adventure Tours. Nature Discovery Tours run the actual trails. 10 thumbs up!

Google Earth catches UFO over Table Mountain

Hmm… somebody’s been flying their UFO out of authorised airspace around Cape Town. We’re going to need a PigSpotter equivalent. A “GoogleEarth UFOSpotter-Spotter”. Or something like that. So we can drive our UFO’s around in peace.

Soupy City

Soupy morning

Took this pic early on Saturday morning. I love it when the city’s grey and soupy. There’s something to be said for a temperate winter.

Fabrizio Giannone launches in SA

Love the vibe of Brazillian jeweller Fabrizio Giannone which has launched in SA. It’s fierce! I love the chunky gemstone rings. And you can’t go wrong with a strong brazilian model face. To buy, email fabriziogiannonesa@gmail.com.
