I adore Bulgari’s new ad for their Jasmine Noir fragrance starring Kirsten Dunst and an enormous lion. It’s set in Italy, and it’s dripping in dreaminess and jewels. I know what my next fragrance purchase will be.
TheMay Issue of Cosmo with Taylor Swift on the outside and CTG on the inside. Says the Twitter Queens article:
“Alex’s zebra-striped-and-turquoise wall will instantly lift your mood – never mind the funny one-liners, wry humour and links to fab entertainment on her timeline.” Thanks Cosmo.
Cute sandals for your summer trip to Majorca / Marrakesh / Durban. These are from my buddy LV. You can find his craft stall at the end of the designer wing at the V&A Waterfront, opposite the Gucci stall.
If you’ve ever been to the Cape Quarter you have probably come across Daniela’s, a delightful little confectioner next door to Dillon&Jada, where I like to get my Vivienne Westwood Melissa shoes. This weekend I had the privilege of tasting the CTG-inspired macaroon(blogged about here), hand-delivered by Daniela’s Durban partner Lexi, owner of Durban Central blog.
The CTG-inspired macaroon is Champagne-infused vanilla, and it is like nothing on earth. It has all that creamy deliciousness of vanilla, with a tart, almost creme-brulee-cheesecake type finish. And truly, it has to be the most delicious macaron flavour I have ever tasted. Its appearance is that of a gold-dusted vanilla macaroon (see below).
Daniela’s in the Cape Quarter have a limited stock of the CTG macaroon, so you should go and taste one while you can. Or ten. It’s not hard to get carried away!
Pictured is a very thrilled CTG with her box of golden macarons. Can I also just take a moment here to appreciate Daniela’s packaging?! Presentation is everything, and Daniela’s treats are as well turned out as those from world famous Laduree in Paris.Simply beautiful!

As winter arrives, what better excuse to get on a plane and find some summer? Majorca, darling, or Marrakesh. Perhaps a spot of Cannes. So don’t pack away those kaftans just yet. And why not pick up a pair of Espadrilles – imported from Spain – for only R99 - from dealio? If you feel me, you’ll feel me. Click here.
I am such a packaging girl. A good product is just an added bonus. Elizabeth Arden’s 100-years of beauty Anniversary edition 8-hour treatment and lip protectant packaging is both. The 8-hour skin protectant is great for winter as its super moist, and we know all about the virtues of the 8-hour lip stick. So pretty! They’re R135 and R115 from Edgars respectively. Guys – Great gifts for girls!
Red Africa's CEO Matthew Tagg (formerly CEO of Web Africa) says: “We’re a bit late to the party and ultimately don’t know where this is going, but if everyone else is doing it, it’s probably a good thing! Plus my mom likes red too.“
If there’s one thing we have learnt from Vodacom’s big ‘rebrand to red’, it’s that ‘red is big’. Thus CTG’s internet sponsor, Web Africa, have also rebranded to become ‘Red Africa’. I, for one, am heaving a sigh of relief. The last thing I need is to have a sponsor who does not ‘ride the trendwave’. And to commemorate this momentous occasion, Red Africa are offering a ridiculous internet deal where for only R199 per month you can get 30GB. Which is actually just a bit ridiculous. You have to wait til 12pm though, which is when the deal starts, and they’re only giving away 30 accounts per day. So set an alarm or something. 30GB!!! That’s like buying a Birkin bag for the price of a Guess bag!
They’re also throwing in 100GB of Download Plus bandwidth free of charge, AND they’re adding 100GB of Download Plus bandwidth to everyone on the MyBB package. Guess that’s why they’re an award-winning local service provider hmm? Maybe it’s time you joined Red Africa?Click here to get the special.
Good news for shopaholics. That ‘no refunds / no refunds exchanges on sale goods / no refunds without till slips / exchanges within 10 days of purchase’ is now illegal, and you have up to 6 months to return something that is defective, according to the new Consumer Protection Act, or ‘rent a wardrobe’ legislation, as I like to call it. Not the best time to get into the retail biz, what do you think? Read more here.
