The till slip from the Loading Bay, Hudson Street. Have you ever tasted their chips? They’re made with truffle oil. If things are too good and you’re looking for a new addiction, some kind of delicious way to throw your life away (because it will become an obsession) head on down to Loading Bay and ask for some of their chips with your sandwich. You’ve been warned. See you at ‘group’.

Put it on your list of awesome lunch spots. It’s at 190 Sir Lowry Road in Woodstock and has British flag awnings so it’s easy to spot (on the right coming out of town). I had the Asian Tuna wrap with a selection of their fantastic salads. And their crunchies are good too. Click.
Haven’t been to Beluga in ages but had such a great night there the other night. Glad to see their half-price sushi special still going strong!

Looking forward to this event at the Table Bay Hotel. So far I’ve eaten about 500 Lindt Balls and drunk a bottle of champagne and I haven’t even got to the Table Bay yet, so things are looking good. First we’ll be picked up in a limo then we’ll be taught how to make all manner of delicious things while taking part in our own cooking show (literally a life-long dream of mine – been telling everyone, my hair is longer than Nigella’s so I’m definitely a better cook) and then we’ll ’suffer’ through a wine-tasting at the Atlantic Grill (what a tragedy) and then we’ll sample a few of the whiskies and cognacs at the Union Bar (love me a single malt).

to read up more about who’ll be attending it with me, you can click here. Looking forward to having CTG’s Official Wine Expert along. Should be hilarious!
After a surprise birthday dinner at Aubergine on Friday, JW & KW had their party at AndUnion on Monday night. Happiness for all who like Weiss beer and the famous andunion prego roll (ie me). Went on a photo frenzy with hipstamatic but (here’s a learning) not all the pics came out. Despite that we had a great time. As for Aubergine… give it a try! I recommend the risotto starter and the osso bucco.

It’s right next to the Old Biscuit Mill, to the right if you’re facing it and if you ask me it’s one of the nicest places in Woodstock, if we must venture there. Delicious beef ghoulash and apple cider pork pies. Yummy carrot cake. And a whole bunch of different soups for winter. It’s also very reasonably priced.

Love YoursTruly at 175 on Long Street. Small and snug with big yummy sandwiches and cool stuff on the walls. Busy at lunch time. Round the corner from the High Courts, great for lawyer-watching. No jokes.

Head to Harbour House restaurant in Kalk Bay. It’s above Polana, and it feels like you’re eating at a holiday house right on the sea. I recommend the fish – I ate the Panga with delicious rosemary potato bake - and the calamari was excellent, too.

Bunch of us bloggers got punked by Airwaves. Hey, we had it better than Mike Sharman (above) who got a barrel of ice cold water dumped on him – fully clothed. To quote the Airwaves payoff line: “now that’s extreme”. Hmm.

Spent some time in the gym since February is no good for outdoor running unless you’re up before 7 or you run after 7 in the evening. It’s just too. Damn. Hot. Noticed for the first time that Wembley Virgin’s manager’s name is Calvin Klein. Couldn’t just walk away with a pic.

PD is moving to London next week, so we’re doing lots of stuff like eating out. Saturday night we went to Woodlands Eatery.

Enjoyed Risotto balls at Sevruga with MEJ on Sunday. And a spot of shopping.

Spent some QT with Neurotic Harvey, who had the full-moon jitters.

So lovely weekend then.

Great news for my London readers! Vida is now opening another store in your town, and it’s in Goodge Street. This is in addition to the one in Golden Square. Best you put your mouse here and like Vida UK on facebook, that way you’ll know as soon as the new store is open, and apparently it’s any day now. You know that this makes the prospect of London holidays far more bearable. CTG can really only exist in two places right now – London and South Africa – because there are no Vidas anywhere else. It’s like the law of gravity. Or a law of gravity. Pictured below is Green Point store manager Elias on the right – he’ll be heading up the baristas in the new store. This is good news and sad news – we will miss you Elias!

I love that Vida take their baristas with them overseas. It just wouldn’t be Vida without them!
