Just getting in the mood for joining PD in St Tropez. Pretty hey? It’s called a Riva. And they’re handcrafted pieces of beauty.

Mmmmm. Leather seats, lacquered, hand-worked wood… Nice gift for a dad who’s already got the bottle of [ your premium whisky brand here] yes?

Super pretty. Below is Bridget Bardot taking ‘the junior’, one of the smaller models, for a spin.

PD is currently chilling between St Tropez and Italy at the moment, enjoying a little summer time. She sends these pics, talks about pasta a lot and says she “keeps bumping into Jamie Foxx and Paris Hilton while out shopping”. How awful! Gonna be joining her soon for some poolside lazing, volleyball and copious amounts of eating great food.

Went to Design Indaba on Friday. Saw some amazing speakers including Mark Shuttleworth, who chatted about how he’s had to make Ubuntu pretty, and Jens Skibstadt. Hugh Masekela performed (above). Robert Wong, Director of Google Creative Labs, spoke, below. Loved his talk as he was relatively down to earth and ‘non floaty’, and he had his two little daughters in the front row listening to him. I don’t get mud chandeliers. But I do get approaching creativity & business the way you maintain a happy marriage - “Surprise, exceed expectations, and for every negative interaction make sure there are 5 good interactions”. That makes both business and marriage sound like fun.

Below is trendmeister Dion Chang with one of the Grolsch dudes.

PD is heading to London soon. Watch out for the adventures of LDN Girl ;) We’ve been sending her off for the last week.

Cafe Chic girls dinner

PD & Dali at AndUnion. We played ping pong.

Bash, freshly back from JPN, & LA.

PD & Mark aka L’il Phil

Hit up new spot The Power & The Glory for some lunch. I love their lions.

Reyjeane & PD
PD & I attended the launch of the Shinso Skincare range at CTG’s much-loved ReyJeane Spa & Salon. Shinso is a Japanese product that’s been heralded as a ‘facelift in a bottle’, and all of Cape Town’s prettiest ladies were out in force. Shinso creator, Nao Tsuruta, flew out from Japan especially for the occasion and was giving trials of the Shinso Mist. It’s made using not one but two ingredients that got their creators Nobel Prizes when they were discovered (read more here).

Once we’d eaten our fill of oysters and champagne, we got half our faces sprayed with the mist so we could see for ourselves the effect. It definitely made our skin feel tighter, as if it had been a little pulled back. And super soft too. You can buy the products from ReyJeane Salon. Check out some Before & Afters here.

Played dress up in some of LA’s dresses while waiting to get dinner while we sorted out her summer wardrobe.

It was the perfect sit outdoors and watch the sunset weekend. Perfect.

PD and I had brunch at Sotano on Beach Road. Try the eggs benedict, you won’t go wrong.

Strolled into Virgin Active on Sunday to find them all dressed like this. Just sommer, on a Sunday. Good times.

More inner city gotham pretty.

We ate dinner at Blonde on Sunday. PD and LM shared a tasting plate, I had the sweet, deboned lamb ribs with roast potatoes. Nom nom nom. Particularly enjoyed the chocolate fondant for dessert. Good weekend!

Ended the week at the 2oceansvibe and Goldfish party at Cape Royale’s Sky Bar. We drank Boschendal bubbly and bounced. We like Goldfish. They bring the happy vibes. Please, musicians – we love the happy vibe. Bring it.

We even had an extremely special moment where PD got to touch and pose next to 2oceansvibe’s very own TBG!!! It basically made her week. She’s still talking about it. Really, we are having trouble getting her to shut up! Look we don’t blame her. Just look at his loving, peaceful face. You can’t gaze upon it without feeling as if you’ve been ‘touched by a mangel’.

And suddenly there he was...
We spent a bit of time just chilling looking at the city from some pretty places.

Fiddled around with some new Hipstamatic filters

Enjoyed watching Table Mountain play ‘the Volcano game’ - that’s always fun

Ate dinner at Cafe Chic again – we really do love this spot. It’s in Breda Street in Gardens. It’s quiet and calm and plays French Cafe music and it has chandeliers everywhere – what’s not to like??

PD and I also did a weekend workout at Wembley and then grabbed sushi and danced to Usher’s Top 10 at our table. Note: AT our table. Not ON our table. Big difference. Nice weekend all!

We don’t normally do this, but we’d like to give a special shout-out to Vince from North Carolina in the US of A, who is a General in the Corps Marines (in which he’s been serving for 12 years now). We hear Vince recently came to South Africa for a holiday, and that he loves it. A little birdie told us that he quite likes reading CTG, too. Well, we’re sending the love right back at you, Vince! Please give little Sophia Grace a big hug and a kiss for us, okay? She is just too beautiful. When she’s a bit older, we’ll take her out and show her how to be a CapeTownGirl ;) Thanks for reading CTG, we appreciate your support.
Much love, CTG, PD & LA
