LA and PG (below left) are gonna be on it, filmed on their Zanzibar holiday. Pictured here with LA’s godchild, Cublietti. Should be good – as we know LA is great on camera :) check out this old videoblog (memories…. light the corners of my mind)

We said farewell to LA & PG on Friday night at AndUnion. Pictured is LA, SB and CTG. PG is going to play rugby in Kobe in Japan for 7 months and taking LA with him. Very sad but I “guess that’s just the way the story goes”.
We ate prego rolls and drank Weiss beer ‘one last time’. Good times.
First PD moved to London. Now LA is moving to Japan on Sunday. What is a CTG to do but get dressed in black, don some shades (LA wears Prada, CTG wears Bulgari, both Sunglass Hut) and take some morose pictures and then apply an Italiano filter to them. We’re in mourning here. Not sure what we’re going to do now that we’re all apart! (Probs lots of ’skype sessions’ via our iPhones.)
Sad times here at CTG HQ. Miss you PD. Miss you LA.
Got in some quality time with Jacub and his godmother LA. His other godmother, PD, has yet to meet him as she is still ‘shopping the world’. Will put some of her updates up soon.
It’s been a while since we sat down and had a nice (video) chat, but on SundayLA & CTG sat down to talk about smiles, and why they are infinitely preferable to pouts. We got onto the topic because LA has just had her teeth whitened with WhiteSmile Clinic, and I wanted to know about her experience since I have considered having it down many times but have never actually taken the plunge. We also cover topics such as LA going brunette, and whether or not the pout was ‘invented in Tiger Tiger’. Enjoy.
Went to Design Indaba on Friday. Saw some amazing speakers including Mark Shuttleworth, who chatted about how he’s had to make Ubuntu pretty, and Jens Skibstadt. Hugh Masekela performed (above). Robert Wong,Director of Google Creative Labs, spoke, below. Loved his talk as he was relatively down to earth and ‘non floaty’, and he had his two little daughters in the front row listening to him. I don’t get mud chandeliers. But I do get approaching creativity & business the way you maintain a happy marriage - “Surprise, exceed expectations, and for every negative interaction make sure there are 5 good interactions”. That makes both business and marriage sound like fun.
Below is trendmeister Dion Changwith one of the Grolsch dudes.
PD is heading to London soon. Watch out for the adventures of LDN Girl ;) We’ve been sending her off for the last week.
Cafe Chic girls dinner
PD & Dali at AndUnion. We played ping pong.
Bash, freshly back from JPN, & LA.
PD & Mark aka L’il Phil
Hit up new spot The Power & The Glory for some lunch. I love their lions.
Played dress up in some of LA’s dresses while waiting to get dinner while we sorted out her summer wardrobe.
It was the perfect sit outdoors and watch the sunset weekend. Perfect.
PD and I had brunch at Sotano on Beach Road. Try the eggs benedict, you won’t go wrong.
Strolled into Virgin Active on Sunday to find them all dressed like this. Just sommer, on a Sunday. Good times.
More inner city gotham pretty.
We ate dinner at Blonde on Sunday. PD and LM shared a tasting plate, I had the sweet, deboned lamb ribs with roast potatoes. Nom nom nom. Particularly enjoyed the chocolate fondant for dessert. Good weekend!
We don’t normally do this, but we’d like to give a special shout-out to Vince from North Carolina in the US of A, who is a General in the Corps Marines (in which he’s been serving for 12 years now). We hear Vince recently came to South Africa for a holiday, and that he loves it. A little birdie told us that he quite likes reading CTG, too.Well, we’re sending the love right back at you, Vince! Please give little Sophia Grace a big hug and a kiss for us, okay? She is just too beautiful. When she’s a bit older, we’ll take her out and show her how to be a CapeTownGirl ;) Thanks for reading CTG, we appreciate your support.
