Clifton Shores: it’s happening

Looks like Clifton Shores will be coming out any day now. Here’s the promo. What do you think? I’m a little skeptical that this looks like a bunch of ditzy over-blondes fighting over a very average bro who runs a concierge company. That’s just not a terribly believable plotline. But hey, maybe they have some surprises in store for us. I’ll be watching!
****UPDATE****
According to my sources Clifton Shores has just begun editing so it’s going to be a while before it’s on TV. So… Planting the corn that I will harvest to pop to eat while watching. (thanks Jimmy)

Ha! Definitely saw a guy I went to school with in the background there. Gotta rag him for that.
Looks pretty cool tho, as far as these shows go. Would be great if more US teens now add Cape Town to glamorous places they want to visit, certainly cheaper than the French Riviera!

Are you talking about Brett? Am sure he will be the highlight of the show!
Excited.

Nah, a guy named Shaun. I checked with someone else and apparently he's like a sort of background character, at dinner parties in the show and the like.

This honestly could of been shot ANYWHERE in the world. Not one person they interact with (well in this promo) is actually from South Africa. Guess this type of publicity will be great for Cape Town and SA though.
This is a soapie right? There is no ways this is a reality show or that these people are for real. Camera angles and lighting are always perfect and some of the acting looks a little put on…

It's not exactly reality, or a soap. I guess they're a continuation of shows Mtv has had since even before Survivor and all the reality crap we have today, like The Real World. The first one (or at least one of) of these shows was The Hills (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_hills) which started following some high-schoolers from the "real" Orange County. MTv has continued following some of these people around as they've gone to college and started jobs, leading to new shows and casts. They've also kept on finding new high-schoolers to start turning into annoying "celebs". These shows create the likes of Heidi Montag, who the world really doesn't need, and Lauren Conrad (hottie, who is pretty cool, on TV at least).

I started watching Laguna Beach in high-school and have watched every show since, Newport Harbor, The Hills and the City (my favourite)! So I’m excited to see what Clifton Shores is going to be like.
However, doesn’t look there is much in the way of fashion featuring in that promo, worried there might be a little much (Jersey) Shore and not enough (The) City…
