A sincere apology.

Yesterday I tweeted a link to the teaser of a show called ‘Clifton Shores’ - just like Jersey Shore, but in set Clifton, Cape Town.

I would like to sincerely apologize for tweeting it.

I received a number of reports of people having to make ‘emergency bookings’ with their shrinks, attempts at ‘gouging out eyes with clutchpencils’, tales of children who happened to be in the room at the same time as their parents were viewing the trailer running and hiding in closets, asking for ‘blankies‘ and ‘why mummy is so mean to me’. One reader wrote in and told me how watching it made him remember that one time he was assaulted by a tranny and her faux Choos on Camps Bay strip when asking if he could ‘buy her a mojito’, a memory he’d just managed to bury and the pain had caused him to ’start smoking Kents again’. Another wrote in and said ‘well done CTG, you have made me want to die, FML and your L 2′.

For this I cannot express how sorry I am. I watched it, and simply had to redistribute the pain by sharing it on twitter, for fear of internalizing it and ‘taking it out on myself’ by engaging in self-abusive behavior such as ’slicing open my wrists, getting into a hot bath and waiting for death to take me’.

If it makes anyone feel better, I did spend 3.5 minutes in the corner of my studio, rocking back and forth with my thumb in my mouth, droning out the alphabet to ‘restore a sense of normality’ to my life. I am hoping that the twitter followers who were affected by my gross negligence in posting this video can forgive me, and that we can work towards our collective ‘happy place’ once more.
