What a fabulous evening! For those of you who haven’t seen it, the refurbished Cape Town station is looking very pretty, and it was a most unique venue for a fashion show.

Gorgeous white Hip Hop gown #positiveheroes

Cute little number by Malick #positiveheroes

We saw lots of fabulous faces there including Helen Zille, who was working on her phone while she was attending (yes, that is what it takes to be a super-politician), and we also met some of the people who work for the Positive Heroes organisation. They are doing a lot of good work in a country that’s so affected by AIDS. Did you know that 70% of people who have AIDS, don’t know they have it? Go get tested. Yes, you, Mr Hotshot With Multiple Business Investments And A Jag. Yes, you, Miss Fake Boobs Who Wouldn’t Know A Condom If It Did A Dance In Front Of You.

I went and got tested 3 weeks ago, and let me tell you, it’s a great feeling knowing where you stand. I do it once a year. Either way, it works out. If you’re HIV positive, or you’ve got some kind of STD, you can start treating it and adapting your life to a new way of living. And if you’re negative, it just motivates you to keep it that way, and gives you a reason to be grateful for your health and look after it.

Loved this dress, think it's Elizabeth Gillis

Eager snappers doing their thing as the models walk the ramp

The show managed to raise just over R500 000 for the cause – pretty exceptional I think. The auction had some amazing stuff going. We sat coveting the Stiaan Louw tuxedo but another lucky chap managed to bag it.

Stiaan Louw: making men look stupidly good.

Spotted this crazy fur jacket creature. Love it. Just hope it’s not real Abominable Snowman.

Also loved this sparkly mini, by X&O I am pretty sure?

All in all it was a great event in a truly unique venue. Well done to Positive Heroes for getting it to come together like that. If you would like to contribute to the Positive Heroes cause, please click here to find out how you can.
