Sleeping like a spaz
I know y’all have been GAGGING for capetowncat this week so it is with great pleasure we delve back into the riveting Life & Times of Josie Cat. JC’s been up to her usual, brain-explodingly cute nonsense, but that aside her mom Emma informs me she has also just been spayed (said in very hushed tones, we do not want to create unnecessary panic). So she has been sleeping a lot, and giving Emma death stares, and generally plotting revenge. Impossible in a creature so cute-looking, you think, but you’d be surprised…

A little bit of a spazzy climb

Back to sleep post the spaying (shhhh)
In her anesthetized state, JC would like to present to you 2 CTC’s who belong to makeup artist, Eloise Dreyer (who is a seriously fab makeup artist, FYI, click here to follow her on twitter). First up is Indi Pendula and her lazr eyes:

Indi
And next up is Zazu Gabore who we pay tribute to here on CTC, since she has sadly since passed.

Zazu (bless her)

Zazu after one of her wilder nights out in her youth. RIP ZG
Got a kitteh who makes you proud? Send me a pic of your CapeTownCat editor@capetowngirl.com and I’ll feature them here in LTJC. For those of you who send the weekly kitties – keep them coming! They brighten my day! xx

That pic of Indi is AMAZING! What a regal looking thing.
I’m trying to decide if I should get Josie a collar or not? I once had a Siamese who almost strangled herself whilst climbing a tree. She ended up getting the colour stuck under her arm, while trying to break free and we were away for a holiday so by the time we came home, she was going gangrene.
Oh but wait, we weren’t there, so this story could be false? Anyway, the point is, there was gangrene brought on by a collar.
What to do? What to do? All these parenting decisions…

I don't think cats should have collars, personally. I guess if they bring in birds and are always wondering and getting lost then maybe.
But if there's no real reason i think not.
Also have heard of a few strangling instances... not resulting in death but trauma i am sure!

Rich @5StarRich
Rogz does a “variable load, break-away” collar for cats to avoid the strangulation vibe…

My cat has a collar. It’s glow-in-the-dark and she rocks it. It’s also got elasticated bits in it so (hopefully) the risk of strangulation is diminished. Although, now you’ve got me worried…

I have to start by saying that I just picked up on an atrocious spelling mistake in my colour, err, collar comment. Yes, I’m anal-retentive when it comes to spelling.
Anyway, the idea of putting a collar around my baby’s neck is not something I even want to engage with. I guess I shall have to monitor her behaviour and do so if, and only if, it’s really necessary.
